We are looking for an experienced and organized Community Manager and Content Producer to work with our Digital Communications team to execute all aspects of our community management needs. Due to the nature of the team and the dynamism of the projects undertaken, this role requires excellent communication, time management skills, commitment and high performance.

Objective and functions of the position

The Community Manager and Content Producer will create engaging content for Digify Africa and its various projects, and engage with our audience through social media channels. This person will facilitate and encourage engagement on Digify Africa’s platforms and relationship building between the brand and the page’s followers.

    • Producing quality is written and audiovisual content for Digify Africa projects. You have to bring strong ideas that are aligned with the identities of the brand. These ideas should include photo sets, video content, and social experiences.
    • Writing various pieces of content following brand guidelines to maintain consistent tone of voice and style when writing; from surveys to quizzes to blog posts.
    • Detailed planning and execution of weekly and monthly content schedules, monthly editorial calendar themes including special events, holidays and online trends.
    • Scheduling Approved Social Media Content on Hootsuite
    • Daily community management for Digify Africa social media pages in the correct tone and personality as agreed
    • Contribute to monthly brainstorming sessions by suggesting content and engagement ideas for various platforms
    • Engage with the digital content manager or team members for help with moderation and responses
    • Reputation management: monitor online complaints and ensure that a positive reputation is maintained for our brands
    • Preventively identify potential reputation risks and crises for the brand, and report them to the Digital Content Manager
    • Own Social Media Response Practice for Digify Africa Social Media Pages
    • Practice top-notch community management to ensure flawless execution of response, timing, and content delivery in an authentic brand voice
    • Engage in conversations with subscribers and the wider social media community with a consistent brand voice across all channels, in line with campaigns, trending topics, popular hashtags, current events and live
    • Monitor trends, competitor presence and new social media marketing opportunities as they become available and leverage them to run new campaigns
    • Post live to Twitter and Instagram Stories for events, sometimes in collaboration with other content producers
    • Manage comments and engagement for our Instagram Live, Webinar, Facebook Live and Live Events sessions, in all projects and ensure the session is live on platforms
    • Create a process to ensure timely communication with the business to inform social processes and content
    • Monitor and report comments and reviews online
    • Attend all training to improve in the role
    • Develop and send weekly reports to the digital content manager, and complete monthly reports on engagement and brand sentiment
    • Keep abreast of digital trends and recommend new digital solutions to action with the team
    • Assist with quality assessment and editing of copy, text and images to ensure content has been tailored for each platform

Diploma and experience

  • Minimum qualification: Diploma in Marketing, Media, Communications or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a content producer and / or community manager for a business or small business
  • Proficient in the Google suite with the ability to create stylish, branded PowerPoint presentations for reporting needs
  • Proficiency in Hootsuite, Falcon or similar content planning platform
  • An African (written) language is an advantage
