Jaimie and Jon Clark came to visit and we all talked about SEO and more. Jaimie Clark is Vice President of SEO at Centerfield, she was previously Head of SEO at Wirecutter, a New York Times company. Jon Clark runs his own company, Moving Traffic Media and was previously SEO at some large companies. In part one I pinned Jaimie vs. Jon in an SEO challenge – guess who won… Then in part two we talked about the career paths of Jaimie and Jon Clark and in part three we let’s talk about Jaimie Clark’s professional career and her growth as VP of SEO at a large corporation.
So now that we’ve heard about Jaimie Clark’s SEO career journey through various companies, I asked Jon Clark to start an agency. We talked about the differences between running your own business and working for one. Jon talked about the benefits of COVID to running his business. But then he went on to explain all the concerns of running a business from payroll, taxes, insurance and more. Which helped Jon find mentors to work with during his process of building his own business. He talked about a few things he did to help him build his business.
He then talked about some methods he uses to compete as a small business and how they interview, hire and manage employee benefits. He said it was about building the corporate culture in the company even without having everyone in the office.
